In the morning we left the hotel to get to the boat to Alaska. A Holland America line boat named Nieuw Amsterdam. We thought to walsk on but we did not have an esta, American visa, so we were taken to a computer and show what to d get one. Angelique was ready quickly, mine more difficult because I lived in England and an Irish passport. After a lot a o
oos and aaas I got one and told to het a British passport.We went on board to the eights floor and we have a room with a balcony, very comfortable . All luggage was brought to our room and we settled. The next thing a tour through the ship, overwhelming. So well designed and .beautiful. It was evening before we set off and we had dinner and sat with some American people. We never realised that this was a long passage, the inner passage. We left on a Saturday, sailed all Sunday and arrived in Juneau. the time on the boat was enjoyable mainly because of the beautiful nature. We did not see whales although some plumes were to be seen but difficult to photograph because you have to be so quick and my camera is not good enough.
